Emanuele Giovanni Urso was born in Conversano, Italy in 1990. He first started to play the Horn at the age of 11. Mr Urso is a native of Martina Franca. He received musical training from D. Clevenger, S. Dhor, H. Bauman, S Willis, S. De Leval Jezierski, W. Sanders, D. Bonet, J. Nielsen, Yoel Abadi and Michael Slatkin. Mr Urso graduated from the Monopoli Conservatory at the age of 19 with First Class Honors, he achieved this under the tutelage of Professor U. Musio. He obtained his Masters Degree with Professor Luca Benucci at the Conservatory of B. Maderna (Cesena) and was awarded with the “Magna Cum Laude”. Mr Urso had the privilige of collaborating with prestigious orchestras and Conductors such as : Zubin Mehta, Daniel Oren, Stefan Anton Reck, Daniele Gatti, Tito Munoz, Tito Aprea, Roberto Abbado, Lior Shambadal, Andrea Battistoni, Omer Wellber, Fabio Luisi, Boris Brott and Valery Gergiev Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento; Orchestra of Arena di Verona; Gustav Mahler Jugendorchestra; Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino; Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Orchestra of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova; International Orchestra of Italy; Theatre “G. Verdi” of Salerno; Israel Philharmonic Orchestra; Israel Symphony Orchestra; Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra or Israel Camerata Orchestra Jerusalem; Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari; Teatro Lirico of Spoleto; Academie of Gustav Mahler Orchestra. Mr Urso was invited to perform with the above mentioned orchestras through merit, recommendation and winning the auditions. At the age of 17 he won his first audition as (Substitute) 1st Horn at the “Ico Theatre Politeama of Lecce”. He also won the job title of 2nd Horn at the Ico Magna Grecia in Taranto, 1st Horn at the National Conservatory Orchestra of Italy and finally at the Teatro Lirico of Spoleto. 
He was an artist at the Festival della Valle d‟ltria (Martina Franca), Ritratti Festival with Ensemble „05, Musical Review “A. Mariani” and Ravello Music Festival. Mr Urso has been successful in numerous national and international competitions. He won 1st prize at the VII edition of AudiMozart! International Competition in Rovereto ( Trento - Italy). As a dedicated chamber musician, he was also awarded 1st prize at the XI International Competition for Young Musicians L. Zanuccoli in Sogliano di Rubicone. He also won the Buchmann Mehta Chamber Music Competition in TelAviv, Israel. Mr Urso has had guidance from a number of reputable figures in the music world. He is a recipient of a full living and tuition scholarship at the Buchmann Mehta School of Music (Specialist Orchestra School set up by Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra). 
Mr Urso plays with the Israel Philharmonic, Israel Symphony and Theater of Tel Aviv, on a regular basis. He is currently based in Italy. He has got an audition on March 2015 at the Maggio Musicale Theater in Florence as a 3/1 and tutti Horn under the bottom of Z. Mehta and F. Luisi. In 2015 he has got two trials as a Principal Horn from to major Orchestra in England: Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra of Manchester. Further get invitation from Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra(Guadalajara -Mx), Girona Orchestra, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, Erl Tiroler Festspiele, where he use to play as a Principal/Solo leader section Horn, he has won the full-time job as a Principal Horn at the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari where was till 2019. On January 2021 he won the audition for full-time job as a Principal Horn at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Theater in Florence, under the bottom of Zubin Mehta and recently in January 2022 he just won the same position at the Teatro alla Scala of Milan under the bottom of Riccardo Chailly. 
He's Artist Secretary at the Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra where he usually teaches as Brass and Woodwind coach since 2018.
