CURRICULUM

Alberto Culmone is the Principal clarinet and E-flat clarinet of the Berner Symphonie Orchester. Despite his young age, he was previously also guest principal clarinet in the orchestra of Teatro Massimo of Palermo and orchestra “La Toscanini” in Parma. 
Alberto Culmone was born in 1999 in Palermo and began studying music at a very young age with his father. At the age of 12 he beganhis improvement work with Mr. Calogero Palermo, Principal clarinet of the Royal Concertgebouw orchestra in Amsterdam.
At the same time he attended the Conservatory of music in Palermo where he obtained the master degree of performing art in clarinet cum laude and honourable mention. During his studies he took part in many international masterclasses such as “Ticino Musica”, “Musica Riva Festival”, “Académie musicale de Villecroze”, and many others. Furthermore despite his young age, Alberto is used to hold masterclasses as a clarinet teacher. Over the years he has been the winner of numerous international solo competitions, such as First Prize “Samnium International Clarinet Competition” First Prize "Marco Fiorindo" Competition Nichelino, First Prize “Città di Carlino” Competition , Third prize “Cluj International Clarinet Competition”, First Prize  “AMIGDALA” Competition, First Prize “Benedetto Albanese” Competition,  First Prize “Eliodoro Sollima” Competition, First Prize "MusicalMuseo" Competition, Second Prize “Benelux Clarinet Competition” Gent, Second Prize “Czech clarinet Art” Competition Teplice (Czech Republic) and many other, which have led him to perform both as a soloist with orchestra and in chamber groups, indeed he is one of the most awarded young musicians of his generation. 
He performs an intense concert activity, both solo and in chamber formations, holding concerts in various parts of Europe.
