CURRICULUM

He obtained the Master Degree in Percussion Instruments with full marks and honors, under the guidance of Maria Grazia Armaleo and that for the training of teachers in the musical instrument competition class at the Conservatory “A. Corelli ” in Messina. He attended the specialization courses organized by the "Associated Percussionists" association in collaboration with the "C. Monteverdi ”of Bolzano and“ F. Morlacchi ”in Perugia, held by internationally renowned teachers such as Mike Mainieri (Vibraphone) Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic (Marimba and Percussion) Friederich Macarez (Timpani) and Marinus Komst (Timpani). Since 1998 he has collaborated with the orchestra of the "Vittorio Emanuele" theater in Messina with which he has performed under the direction of illustrious masters such as Reynold Giovaninnetti, Bruno Aprea, Steven Mercurio, Carlo Palleschi, Maurizio Arena, Daniel Oren, Gyhovany Rath and Zubin Metha, boasting, as part of the various editions of "Taormina Arte", numerous concerts and opera productions including those with the Israeli singer Noah, known for "Life is Beautiful" soundtrack of the Oscar-winning film by Roberto Benigni " Life is beautiful ”(1999), Lucio Dalla (1999), Edoardo Bennato (2005) and Andrea Bocelli (2005). He also boasts musical experiences abroad that are linked to the collaboration provided in numerous wind orchestras. From 1994 to 2001 he was percussionist of the Euterpe Music Academy with which he won numerous national and international competitions: 1st prize National Competition of Noto (SR) in the years 2000 and 2001; 1st prize at the National Competition "Riccardo Casalaina" City of Castroreale (ME) in 1999; 1st prize plus gold medal at the Kerkrade World Competition (NETHERLANDS) in 1997; 1st prize at the National Competition of Bellante (TE) in the years 1999 - 2000. Since 2016 he has been Director - Percussionist of Drums Together, Percussion Ensemble of the High School of Music “G. Verga" in Modica with which he obtained the 1st Prize at the 5th International Music Competition" Lucio Stefano D'Agata "held in Acireale from 30 May to 5 June 2016 in the Chamber Music section, the 1st Absolute Prize with a score of 100/100 at the 4th European Competition of Musical Execution "City of Syracuse" Chamber Music section on 12 May 2017, the Absolute First Prize with a score of 100/100 at the 2nd National Music Competition "City of Taormina" section. Chamber Music-Musical High Schools from 6 to 12 elements, the 1st Prize at the 2nd National Music Competition "City of Taormina", section Chamber Music from 2 to 5 elements, on 11 May 2018 and the Absolute First Prize at the V National Music Competition "Franco Berritta" in Sortino on 16 May 2019. In addition to the concert activity, Giuseppe alternating intense didactic activity by teaching in numerous internships, master-classes and advanced courses on solo and contemporary repertoire, chamber music, on problems relating to percussive techniques and teaching methodologies. For several years he has dedicated himself to the enhancement and dissemination of music for percussion instruments, to the research and dissemination of new avant-garde techniques and methodologies, including the in-depth study of Body Percussion. Constantly engaged in updating activities for percussion and teaching methodologies (Orff - Schulwerk Italian) and coordination as a professional expert in projects related to musical dissemination in the territory and educational-musical paths for kindergartens, primary schools and 1st grade secondary school.
He currently holds the chair of Execution - Interpretation of Percussion Instruments at the High School of Music “G. Verga ”of Modica and is Endorsers for the brands Gretsch Drums, Ufip Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, Promark Drumsticks and Latin Percussion (Lp).
