A member of the Berlin Philharmonic since 1983, he had the chance to play for another 6 years under the direction of the legendary Herbert von Karajan. From his early days in Berlin, he was involved in many of his orchestra's lead music formations, such as the ,,Philharrnonische Virtuosen Berlin", the ,,Philharrnonisches Streichsextett Berlin" and the ,,Philharrnonisches Streichtrio Berlin". activities as a musician have earned him several awards and distinctions, such as the ,,Premio Viotti d'Oro" and the ,,best musical ensemble of the year" award in Japan.

Today, he is a member of the ,,Philharrnonisches Streichquintett Berlin" and the ,,Karnrnerorchester Wien-Berlin", a formation exclusively composed of members of the Wiener and Berliner Philharroniker, under the artistic direction of Rainer Honeck, solo violin of the Philharmonic of Vienna.

For many years, Wolfgang Talirz has been involved in charitable projects such as helping street children in Mexico or rebuilding the Abbey of Saint-Vivant.
